Any ideas on affordable family friendly coastal areas? Excellent schools, single family homes $400-450k price range, low crime, family amenities in town. Not ready for real small town living. Thanks all.

StillLookingToo,
The average sold price of a home in the Crystal Coast (Carteret County) is $272K That's averaging all residential properties-Including the beach. (Newport is one of the lowest at $200K with Atlantic Beach one of the highest at approx. $650K)
The Crystal Coast has over 1,000 square miles of water, over 80 miles of pristine ocean side beaches and has a total county population of around 70,000 people.
Our largest town-Morehead City has approx. 7,500-8,000 people. Crime rate is low.
Carteret County has always focused on the children, the schools and it's citizens. It's a great place to live.
I came here 25 years ago for a weeks vacation and never left.
