My husband is in the USCG and we may be getting orders to Elizabeth City for this coming July.I'm trying to do my research of the areas we could be stationed..it looks like a beautiful area, and I wanted to know some of the surrounding areas that would be nice to live? We have a 7 month old daughter and we are looking to purchase a home..any suggestions as to where would be a good area to start looking? Any advice would be great, thank you!

Here's a long post by ECtraveller, who is from EC: Questions about relocating to Elizabeth city, nc

Look for the date 3-23-2011. ECTraveller mentions Camden and Currituck as having better school systems. Other good developments include Mount Hermon, Queenswood, and Peartree Place. Good luck. Many folks have asked the same questions, so search the forum if you need more information.

loads of cg families come in and out of there and always good folks. Let a local Realtor know what you want as some areas of EC can be very dodgy. Out in county in Currituck HS district I think is ok as is further inland. Cannot remember the name but a great restaurant in town that everyone goes to , will have to look it up,,sheese I am drawing a blank
