Hundreds of Fans Scream for Stars at Premiere of The Lucky One - News Story - WCTI New Bern
Sparks brings stars and charity to downtown | sparks, charity, stars - Local News, Weather and Breaking Stories in North Carolina - Sun Journal - newbernsj.com

On a side note, I always thought Nicholas Sparks from NC, though I knew he was not originally from New Bern. Granted, this was based on the fact that all his books take place in NC. I figured he was Like the children's author Beverly Cleary, who's books all take place in Portland, OR where she is from. I guess that kind of blows a big hole in escapenc's theory that the only peopel that move to New Bern and ENC in general are those that can't afford to live anywhere else http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Sparks

On a more somber note, though:

If you would see his house on the Trent River you know why he lives here.

I fished today, happenstance, north of New Bern. I understand it was a mob scene downtown. Fortunately, no first hand knowledge.

And who said the MumFest was as big as it gets???

Were you in New Bern during the Pepsi 100 in 1998? That was rough. The worst, though, had to be when the over 150K people descended on Beaufort for the Tall Ships in '06

My neighbor paid $3500 for a pair of tickets to get into the invitation only red carpet premiere of The Lucky One last night. She got to "mingle" with the stars and had a great time. She was on the Fox Eastern Carolina news; all of the money went to his foundation.
