Water front apartment/condo rental - long term (Raleigh, Carolina Beach: rentals, condos)

Hi all,

I wanted to see if anyone could recommend some places to rent a long term apartment or condo on the coast - we are thinking either Wrightsville, Carolina Beach, Sunset Beach or the Emerald Isle area. We live in North Raleigh and do not want to drive over 3.5 hours to get there, since this would be a location we would only use on weekends and during vacation time. We are truly looking for something under $1000, but have to keep an open mind b/c that is kind of pushing it. We don't mind if it is furnished or unfurnished. We only need a one bedroom. Would like a balcony with some sort of great water view. No kids, one dog (old girl). I have been looking on Craigslist and some other apartment sites with not much luck. Any insight would be much appreciated!

I looked on Realtor.com in areas you could expect long-term apartment rentals. There are a couple of condos at the Cedar Point Villas in Cedar Point for $900 to $950/month with a community boat ramp. There's a 1-BR in a cute little house on Front Street in Swansboro for $650, with a water view. There's a place on Canal Drive in Carolina Beach for $850. I expect you could find similar places on Realtor for Wrightsville, etc.
