I am moving down to Wilmington, NC as soon as I can. However, finding an apartment is more difficult than I thought. I have bad credit due to losing my job a few years ago. The job field that I am in allows me to make better than average money so I am looking for a nicer area. The problem is that I am looking for a place that will accept me with my credit issues. Putting more security or pre-paying a few months is not a problem. I have been looking on craigslist for a place but most of them are grouped apartment complexes that require application fees. I do not mind paying for it but after getting declined at a couple places, I want to be more mindful of where I apply. I am also looking for a job in a car dealership. I see that there is a bunch down there. Does anyone have any tips for me? Thanks!

I would first try and get a job, then you can worry about where to live. I'm sure you can find something decent despite your past. Maybe go talk to someone at one of the complexes you like and see what they say?
