I'll be driving to outerbanks for long weekend for a 4 day trip, how will be traffic? How is parking near tourist spots, especially at and around Jokey Ridge park?

I bought a new car and want to drive in new car to my outerbanks trip, but cautious about car getting damaged (scrathes etc) if parking and crowd is not good..around tourist spots.

Btw, weather forecast is rainy on few days over long weekend...hopefully it willn't become a spoiler our trip..I will not get hotel refunds as I booked on hotels.com

You shouldn't have any problems right now as school isn't out yet. However, I would avoid Memorial Day weekend. If you do go during Memorial Day weekend, there will be a crowd, but mostly from NC and VA families.

It will be good even with the holiday traffic. If you have your room already, go and enjoy.

You might consider parking away from folks if you have a new car. I bought a new car in 2004 and usually still park away from most everyone else. Helps my now not-so-new car looking good. I'm amazed at the scratches I find if I find myself lazy and parking amongst everyone else.

P.S. I don't live in the OBX so no reflection upon all my OBX friends.

We have little animals called scratch monsters here. Very unique in that they search to land on cars and scratch them with their tenicles.
