Hi~ We are currently living in the Supply area, moved here from up north, and not loving it. The shopping is terrible, there are no street lights, dark at nite, husband loves golf, double the price in this area. We are wondering if we would like the Wilmington area better, looking for ideas of places to look at,neighborhoods,250,000-300,000 price range, would like gated but not a deal breaker for a nice area, close to good shopping areas, that are well lite at nite, golfing that won`t break the bank. Thanks

More of the houses in that price range will not be in gated communities, as you would have spend a bit more for gated. Look near the Mayfaire area (maybe Park Ridge), or the Porter's Neck Road area. I also like The Village at Motts Landing, to the south off River Road.

I can't speak to golf, but you would have to look at public courses in those areas. There are many reasonable older houses in the Olde Point development in Hampstead. It has a country club you could join, though I don't think it's gated.

You could look at Compass Pointe. Some of the smaller homes would be in that price range. Magnolia Greens is not gated but would have homes in that range. Both are nice developments in Leland. There is not a ton of shopping but certainly much more than Supply, plus Wilmington is only a 10-15 minute drive.

We ended up south of Wilmington in the Monkey junction area just north of Carolina beach. There
are plenty of golf courses there, I played them to see if I would like them. New homes seemed to be a better buy for us plus you can pick the options and styles you want. There is plenty of shopping, lot's of restaurants and of course the beach! Good luck with your search.

Interesting that you posted this listing. I drove buy the other day. It is an outstanding buy in price per SF, and we would have looked seriously at it if it was available last year.

It backs onto the golf course, but it is not actually part of the golf course community.

It was the first one that popped up in Hamstead!! There are similar deals in Sneads Ferry at the community just off of the high bridge.

Wow, there is nothing in Supply. Did you visit the area before you purchased?

I agree the housing prices are good at the North Shore Country Club in Sneads Ferry. However, I would *not* recommend it to the original posters. We have minimal shopping, no doctors, and very few streetlights. They need to be in or close to Wilmington.
