Hi,

I went to Beaufort, NC last fall for a fasting retreat and loved it. The only problem was that the hotel had roaches. I would love to go back this fall for another retreat, but need a different hotel. I just cannot deal with roaches. Is this common in hotels in Beaufort? If not, can someone recommend a good hotel, ideally with a full kitchen, that also allows dogs?

I stayed at the Beaufort Harbor Suites last year.

Thanks,
~k

We stayed at a pet friendly B&B several years ago called The Red Dog Inn. It was run by a woman named Molly Wood. I am not sure if they are still in business. They are in the heart of Beaufort, on a side street, near the docks. There is a Pub that does not serve food and wants dogs to come in so they can mingle with other dogs. We were just at the Dock House last Sunday with our pet, she & I had drunkin' shrimp. She sits by the outside table watching the boats come in. Food is good and inexpensive & so are the drinks.

Roaches IMO are not the norm. I wouldn't stay a minute in a place that has them.

I hope that you will be able to find a place, Beaufort is my favorite place.

Thank you...I will look into it. Unfortunately my dog is not very dog friendly so I have to be careful where I take him. But I would be going for a fasting retreat anyhow so wouldn't be eating out which is why I want a place with a kitchen. The Beaufort Harbor Suites seemed really clean, but the roaches were killing me. I reached into the kitchen cabinet one night to get a Ziploc bag out that had supplements in it and a roach came out of it and was crawling on my hand and arm. It was disgusting. They were on the wall, the floor, etc. I went to sleep at night afraid that a roach would be crawling on me or into my ear. LOL
