We are interested in going biking, taking long beach walks, seeing some history, nature centers, nature and wildlife and exploring. Kids are early teens. Is it worth going in the end of march to beginning of april time period? Any more recommendations of things to do at that time? Any possibility of taking our wetsuits...

There is the NC Aquarium, Festival park, Elizabethen Gardens, and Lost Colony, all in Manteo. The Wright Brothers Memorial, in Kill Devil Hills.

Sure, why not? I suspect there will be many families taking kids on spring break. The water will be colder, so wetsuits would be great. Just watch for rip currents.

If you're on the southern side of the OBX, you will need a wetsuit. If you're on the northern side, you'll need an ice suit. The labrador current is cold in July, it's downright scary in March.

We were in Nags Head for Spring break last year. I believe it was late April. It was very nice the evening we arrived. It turned cold and windy until our last day. As long as you are prepared for varying weather, it is still nice. We had to change our beach strolling to indoor site seeing, such as the aquarium and Wright Brothers National monument. It was far too windy to enjoy the outdoors. Driving was not suggested either. The last day, we were able to drive South and check out some light houses and have an afternoon at the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and will return.
