I don't live at or on the beach but love to go during the off season. Hwen you say looking for a beach area that's great for kids you need to be more specific. If y ou want games, games, games and rides, rides , rides then go to Myrtle Beach, SC. If you want some game fun (miniature golf, swimming, a few arcades, sun, museums (nature & history),quiet beach times with kids and the bike riding) then try Ocean Isle and Sunset Beach.

We're a small town beach area. We have lots of activities out of doors to keep people busy.

If you are looking for lots of nightclubs we aren't the spot, but if you want clean and uncrowded beaches, fun kayaking and hiking along with great fishing and restaurants serving fantastic seafood without hours of waiting, you might want to consider the Crystal Coast.

You can check out my travel guide to Emerald Isle for more info.

I also have a site with lots of pictures of the area.

There are a number of places to go for interesting day trips.

You can even head "down east" to Cedar Island and catch the ferry to Ocracoke for a visit."

There is more info also at my main web site or my Carteret County blog.

The weather is great, highs in the eighties and lows in the sixties, and the water still warm. Come on down for a visit.
