My daughter and I will be visiting my hubby for a week starting next week. He took a new job, and moved down to Wilmington back in Septemeber! We will be doing some house hunting while visiting him. Several lined up in Wilmington, Hampstead, Rocky Point, Castle Hayne, Burgaw and Atkinson. We may possibly look at some in Southport also! Excited about seeing what Wilmington has to offer! We will also have some down time! What do you all suggest we do? We love good food, wine, music and history! Our teenager daughter loves film (she will be looking at colleges for screenwriting next year). Thanks!

I'd check the Entertainment section of the Star-News: Wilmington NC arts, entertainment, events, attractions | StarNewsPlay.com | Star News Online The article called "Have a Fete this Thursday" caught my eye. The local restaurants are celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau arriving.

check the movies at Thalian Hall, french movie "The Untouchables" plays nov 19-21.
on saturdays the studios are open for touring, I believe you must sign up ahead of time.
Satelite bar and lounge . soapbox [depending on musical style choice]

take a walk or rent bikes and ride the trail around greenfield lake, the cypresses are gorgous right about now.
downtown offers a cool segway tour of downtown, this will give you a historical perspective, there
is also a walking tour one can take. can't recall where to meet but there is an older gentleman that
gives walking tours . you might have to dig to find out where and when.

wilmington really has much to offer , good luck.
