Im just curious to know which area on the coast has a lot of younger people (21-30). The obvious answer seems to be Wilmington, but is there any place else too?
Honesty it really depends on what your looking for. Your welcome where ever you end up. If you looking for a party town, beach town, layback town. What are you looking for that fits your personality? Then someone can help you the right direction.

I can live in any of the environments you described as long as I have some friends my own age. So i guess the thing Im looking for is more people my age.
I would suggest checking out Greenville. There are lots of students here, but there are also a lot of young professionals. Here, you are 1.5 hrs or less from the beach and the Triangle area. It is in a good location, and this town is growing.

Thanks for the info, but I was thinking of places, at the farthest, being 10-15 mins from the beach.

Wilmington isn't bad. There are a lot of people here between the ages of 20 and 30, downtown, around the college, and at the beaches. It's not that expensive to live here, but it is difficult to find a good job. In summertime traffic, downtown is about 20-30 minutes from the beach. If you live in the sprawl or near the college, it will be a little closer.
Probably Greenville....although it is a good 1.5 hours from Morehead, you've got a large university there.
Yes, yes, Morehead City is a good suggestion and affordable too.
