I live near Sunset Beach and was wondering if anyone heard a loud boom about 11 p.m. The house seemed to shake and the pictures on the wall in my den moved. I've heard of the Seneca Guns and thought that might be it.

The only odor I have ever noticed is the fragrant scent of garlic from the Italian eatery down the road a piece..... but only when the wind is right.

Thanks, this is good news. I've been told by those claiming there is a smell, that it's coming from the coal burning Progress Energy plant and should stop when they convert to natural gas. I have no idea when this is schedule to happen.

I read the "myreporter" answer: the same chemical in decaying marsh grasses and some chemical waste was responsible for the smell.
