Just got word about a job in Greenville, NC and will be moving there soon. We are a family with 2 small children, 1 and 4 y.o. I'll be visiting shortly to find a place to live and I need some help narrowing the search.

We will consider living anywhere, prob want to stay within 30 minute commute of downtown Greenville. Looking for a NOT brand new subdivision. Something with full grown trees. Something with bigger lot sizes. Something with great schools. Safety is high priority with the kids. And preferably something with streets/trails close by, preferably walking distance, so after dinner we can get out and take our walks. Does such a place exist in or near Greenville?

Wish list: Safety, Good schools, Mature neighborhoods, Bigger lot sizes (1/2 acre+), Street/Trail to walk/run/bike

How's Farmville? Winterville? Any info helps, thanks so much!!!

Winterville is a small, safe, quiet town. It's within a 15 minute drive to downtown Greenville. There are some newer neighborhoods, as well as some older homes close to the Main street area.

The south side of town is the safest. There are some nice neighborhoods off Evans street, between Greenville Blvd and Firetower Rd as well.

There is a nice park off Firetower Rd near the Evans St/Firetower intersection. This park is safe, but the parks closer to downtown are not safe after dark.
