My point is the different sites have vastly different numbers. $47k is significantly more than the initial figure in the $20s, while much less than the $65k I posted.

Default scams on houses in New Bern

I too was looking for homes to rent in coastal carolina. I inquired on one that seemed really nice and it was obvious by the wording of the reply that the person was a foreigner and the whole thing was a scam. The pics of the home was used on several sites. Often to good to be true, is to good to be true!
There are some great deals out there though so keep looking, get phone numbers, and don't send any money and request documentation that the people advertizing are indeed the owners of the property. Do your due diligence and you should have no regrets. Good Luck!

I paid $800 per month for a three bedroom house with HUGE yard in Wilmington, very safe neighborhood. The catch - the house really needed some work. But it was worth it for the time I was there. I found it driving by on my way to another house I'd seen down the street that was advertised on Craigslist for $950/month. So they're definitely out there.
