Anyone have recommendations for B&B's or hotels on (or near) the beach for a quick vacation?

A walkable town, maybe just a few nightspots, restaurants etc?.

TIA for any suggestions.

Best I can think of is Waterway Lodge at Wrightsville....right across from the Intracoastal and a bunch of restaurants...be a bit of a walk to the Beach, but doable...

You may want to check some of the smaller, older places at Carolina Beach and Kure Beach as well.

Downtown Wilmington has 6-10 B&B's, the area is walkable, and there are many good restaurants. You would have to check them individually if you want to bring your dog.

Thanks, walkable and just a few things to do is great. What do you think about Topsail beach? or is it too isolated?.
Looking for some shoppes and rstaurants, non-family oriented hotel. Topsail looks very pet friendly.

I know Topsail allows dogs on the beach, leashed. I have a friend who takes her dogs out there.

Topsail is not walkable, unless you count walking 2 blocks to the ocean. Everything there will be family oriented, and the restaurants are just your typical seafood places. It is just a typical beach town with a few souvenir shops. It's fine if that's what you want.

Thanks again. Wrightsville looks nice , but also found a site with The Camellia Inn, a Victorian B&B?. It has walking tours for history of Wilmington etc., so that plus near the beach would work out. Looking for quaint B&B in older area, not a big family hotel/resort.

Thanks for all the help, each area is so different.

I looked at the web site of the Camellia Cottage, and found they accept dogs as guests. That is good to know.

In Wilmington, there are three B&B's that are pet friendly - Angie's, Port City Guest House and Front Street Inn, in addition to the aforementioned Camellia's. In Carolina Beach, you might try Beacon House.
