Hey all! I have recently transplanted here in Greenville to work in Vidant =)
I am also a portrait photographer but haven't even started thinking about how to find business yet because of moving and getting settled.
My biggest thing stopping me is where to shoot? I shoot outdoors and want to know if there are any scenic or picturesque places for me to check out?

Thanks in advance!

Around Greenville? Consider the Washington waterfront and all of the Pamlico River. You can get some great photography in and around the Sounds of ENC...up to Edenton, the Outer Banks and even the ferry docks can be very picturesque...check out the one car ferry at San Souci in Bertie County...

Also check this website that lists the scenic byways of NC and look for roads near Greenville...

Yes thanks because I'm struggling. I lived in the same area most of my life..and I just don't know what's here. Mostly been around greenville and I know I need to venture out. Just hard when you don't normally travel those roads lol.
I'm a wedding and portrait photographer and I want to get my business up and running.
Thanks so much!

Closer in Greenville (for weddings and such), you may consider the Town Common, Elm Street Park, River Park North, Green Mill Run Greenway and Park, and Seine Beach in Grimesland.

HP91 nailed it. Good Job

I would add Bath, NC about an hour or so from Greenville is NC's oldest something or other. A couple of historic buildings, a very old Episcopal Church and two large creeks with marshes, etc and all they offer.

I see A LOT of photographers on the greenway bridge at the Town Commons. Plus the Cupola and in Dowdy-Ficklen for the Pirate crowd.

I've seen some beautiful photographs of Antebellum homes in Eastern NC in various states of disrepair. The thing is, the photographer is usually rather reticent about where or how he finds these old homes. Sometimes he even includes information about the families that owned them.. People in this part of the US appreciate art that reflects traditional themes like this.
