I am looking for any advise on moving to Greenville N.C. We are moving from Georgia and are not familar with the area at all. We have a daughter who is in the second grade. I really would like to know what the best elementary schools are. I would like to be in a family friendly neighborhood w/ good schools. Any information is greatly appreciated. I have not even had a chance to visit yet!
Thanks!

Pitt County Schools are very poorly rated (most do not meet minimum state standards). Homeschool or private school is your best option if you can.

The County School board reshuffles the attendance lines every couple of years as everyone tries to crowd into the few decent school districts. It is a giant game of ridiculous musical chairs between the citizens and the school board. The concept of a 'neighborhood school' no longer exists.

I was fortunate as a kid to be within walking/biking distance of my school for 11 of my 12 years. Public schools were bad then and are worse now.

I thought J.H. Rose High School was highly rated for academics.
