The beaches are great and uncrowded, especially when you get further away from the center of Surf City. A number of terrific restaurants too.

Both are family oriented beaches, with a reasonable number of attractions like the Turtle Hospital and some fishing piers. They don't have the huge number of attractions that Kill Devil Hills has, but you can have a good time.

The Turtle hospital is still not open for visitors. I did hear they got their occupancy permit, though.

There is this skating rink featured as one the top ten best kept secrets in the state in last month's "Our State" Magazine.

If this is an adult only trip Brass Pelican is a good time. There are several other bars and such on Topsail Island

The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue Hospital gift shop just opened for two days a week. They are overcrowded with turtles right now, along with their move to the new facility on the mainland. They might be open later in the season, but check their website.
