We just relocated to Wilmington. Our entire family practices a paleo-eating lifestyle (no gluten, dairy, sugar, etc). At our last location, we had difficulty finding healthcare professionals who were open to alternative eating lifestyles. It seems as though paleo is a little more prevalent down here, so I am hopeful. Any recommendations for pediatricians and/or family practice doctors (probably preferably DO's) that are a little more forward-thinking? THANK YOU!!

I think "forward thinking" is a hilarious choice of words coming from a Paleo dieter. I figure it was kind of a put down to us regular eaters, but it backfired.

Here is a word of advice, a little less condescending attitude, and you will find people helpful. Believe it or not, some of us are not dumb ass rednecks.

Welcome to NC, don't forget our motto, "To be rather than to seem."

Actually, I have never run into a family practice doctor (DO or otherwise) who ever asked me what I ate. One does not have to confrontational about one's choice of diet with the doctor.

Perhaps if the OP just specified what area of Wilmington they live in, there would be a few more responses.
