If you and your boys like history, you might enjoy a visit to Ft. Fisher State Park or the USS North Carolina Battleship, located nearby in Wilmington. The Fort Fisher aquarium is also good for a couple of hours of entertainment. Definitely get a dozen Britt's Donuts!

The Lazy Pirate now has sand volleyball courts...there are lots of fun spots in Carolina Beach. The Boardwalk should keep them busy as well as the Fort Fisher area. if you have 4 wheel drive, you can drive on the beach at the North end of Carolina Beach (drinking) or at Fort Fisher (non alcoholic).

Thursday nights have fireworks on the Boardwalk.
