Hello all: I am a rather laid-back NY native who is thinking about relocating to New Bern. From looking at the job market online, it appears that I'd have to either start my own business or find someone who would be interested in hiring someone with a construction/law background. Any suggestions as to how I might go about doing this (do people hang out at the county courthouse, for example)? I'd expect to be living somewhere near downtown. Many thanks.

I've lived in New Bern for 2+ years now. There are very few (white collar) jobs. If you want to start a business, you'll have a terrible time finding reliable people to work for you. Look elsewhere. I wish we did.
