We are planning to get married in Wilmington in April. Just a simply civil ceremony with a handful of people for witnesses. I do not want to use the Magistrate in the detention center because well it's just not my thing to get married in a jailhouse. However I know you can be married by the Magistrate at that Courthouse.
Has anyone used the courthouse Magistrate? What was your experience? Did you get married in the courthouse or at a separate location and would the Magistrate's office do a wedding on a Saturday? Or is it relatively inexpensive to use a JoP? what are the fees for a JoP (ballpark figure)?
Any additional advice/info for civil ceremonies in the area is welcomed. TIA
You should call the Magistrate or the court house and ask them your specific questions.
Since they are the one who can give you the proper answers that would be the best place to start.
