I need to sell my Carolina Beach condo. I'm considering a local discount realtor which charges 3.9% (1.4% for the selling agent and 2.5% for the buying agent). I'm concerned that the condo won't sell as quickly as it would if using a larger real estate firm. I also want to ensure all the procedures, legalities and paper work are done properly. Has anyone had experience with discount realtors in the area? Thanks.

I'd say go for it. They're all governed by the same body. If the realtor doesn't have as much on their plate they'll be more likely to spend more time trying to sell your condo. I have a relative with a large firm, but I don't think they really do anything different. Buyers seem to just go with the first realtor they see.
