I hope community is better than that video

Im sorry to critic the video but it has alot of issues that are worth nothing.
First it loads very slow
The color is very grain and greenish.
All you could see mostly was tree tops and rooftops but not the whole structure.
I there there was pictures of signage but due to picture color and darkness I could not read them.
But the music was relaxing.

Sorry to see that you are having problems with the video,

First, regarding the quality, I'm not sure why you are having color/clarity problems - maybe there is a graphc driver conflict? I tested it on several computers and haven't seen that problem come up. In fact the reason the file is as large as it is is that I made the video for putting on CD's and wanted to keep the quality high.

I should also clarify that I am not affliated with the developer or the project - this is just a video I made from a trip I took down to the development. The developer also has a video on their website Moderator cut: No developers or direct realtor cites as per TOS Their video is a CGI projection of what the community will look like when completed.

Finally, regarding your comment on a lack of structures, homes have not started being built yet - the first homes are being started at the beginning of 2008 and all homes have to be built by 2012 or 2013. The structures shown in the video are the clubhouse and postal center which are under construction.

Brr... It's cold down here for a change. The temperatures got down in the upper twenties last night.

These are some late afternoon pictures from Cannonsgate taken Jan. 2.

Progress is being made on the Clubhouse.

The view and the sunset are as always very nice.

hi. I'm not down there yet,but i think I have a better chance of making it down there, than having to drive thru snow to get to work & see cars all over the place & that is every winter th the north east. everything I've seen fron fortysixandtwo has been negative. He needs to find happiness somewhere.

I have read all the posts pertaining to how dangerous it is to live and build in this area. I have chosen to do both but certainly appreciate the opinions of others and in some ways I guess I see your point. However, I've lived coastal, in the mountains, major city, small town USA and "up the hollors" and EVERY place I've ever lived had it's dangers. I lived in a small town with 0% chance of a hurricane or a major flood but over that beautiful mountain right behind my home was a beautiful chemical plant with some kind of blue smoke bellowing out 24/7. Sure glad there was never a major explosion. At least with a storm you get a warning!

I hope we're all chatting in good fun. I respect both sides of the argument but if you've not visited this area......you're missing out on a beautiful area.

Smile Not sure where you are talking about

Look Carteret County is not like what you are describing.

There are plenty of people moving down here that love it.

I have been here a year and a half, I would say the traffic in our area is not bad and I have yet to be flipped off.

Hurricanes can and do happen, but the warning system is pretty good.

In the eighteen months we have been here, the power might have been off twenty minutes while they were putting new hurricane proof poles.

I have lived in Canada, Massachusetts, Maryland, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. Plus I have spent a lot of time all over the US and traveling through the world.

The Moderator cut: Southern Outer Banks tos violation is one of the nicest places on earth, and I find the people some of the friendliest.

I am proud to say that I have made this area my home, and I welcome anyone to come down and make their own decision based on the facts.

Moderator cut: signature violation
PS- You certainly won't find any nicer sunsets or beaches.

Cannonsgate is not built on a barrier island. It is on the sound side of Bogue Sound. It will be all new homes built to Carteret County building codes.

There is a big difference in living in an old home behind a leaky sea wall in an inner city below sea level and living in a new home built with flood surges taken into account. On top of that the Cannonsgate homes are behind a barrier island which provides substantial protection.

Anyone have any thoughts on property in both Cannonsgate and/or EI at the moment?
I took a number of photos yesterday, January 7. The slide show should provide a pretty good idea of Cannonsgate just before the first houses are built.

Default Dave- Terric Shots of Cannonsgate

Dave,

This is terrific. I'm surprised there isn't a site up like this promoting the plan. It really looks like it's coming along nicely.

Thanks again!

The even better news is I heard confirmation three houses by three different builders should shortly be under construction.

Everyone is really excited to see how they will turn out.

There were some nice waves over at the beach today. It was also pretty warm, but there were no people to be seen. We were down the island at Third Street beach which is almost to Salter Path.

If you are suffering from beach withdrawal, these pictures won't help.

There was an interesting change in colors and intensity with the clouds acting as filters. I took a number of pictures and was surprised how different some were.
