What is that area like. Looked at a home on Spring Lake. Just minutes to Southport and Wilmington and beautiful lakes?
I agree the location is convenient. We considered Boiling Spring Lake for a retirement home. However, there is a mix of nice homes and really trashy looking homes in the same area. It was troubling to see houses with old cars and boats in the yards, so we decided to pass. Try "driving" some Google street views around the house you are interested in. The streets on the lake are the nicest.
Goldenage1, so where did you decide to settle down?
I am in Mimosa Bay, a very nice community in Sneads Ferry which is between Jacksonville and North Topsail Beach. We have a half acre lot with trees, and a house large enough to hold all the hobbies we wanted to enjoy in retirement.
Two things to be careful about in BSL. Flood zones..........and the home's construction.
