Looking for a wedding venue in a country setting, preferably with a barn or other rustic type setting in eastern NC. Wedding is not until October 2015. The simpler, the better.

These are a little more high-end than rustic, but Palo Alto and Foscue Plantation definitely are good sites for weddings:

Welcome to the official website of the Foscue Plantation located in Pollocksville, NC just ten miles south of New Bern.

Selma is closer to the Triangle, but this place is rustic and equipped for weddings: http://www.thefarmnc.com/weddings/ceremonies/

Hello Nikki - The biggest problems with using a real farm will be sanitation and food. After you figure out how many guests you want, you might start with asking caterers if they can suggest locations. For example, many of the ENC Barbecue restaurants will provide food for a crowd.

Consider Rose Hill in Nash County...have been to a couple events there and it is really nice.

Hope Plantation outside of Windsor has a nice country setting as well...

Agreed, I like the look of Mike's Farm. The last time I was in Beulaville it was complete with authentic farm smells from cattle feed lots. I hope the OP visits to make sure she really wants to be on a farm.

The closest hotels are in Wallace or Jacksonville, but guests could also stay at Topsail Beach.
