The western section of the US-70 Goldsboro Bypass from US-70 in Rosewood to I-795 is now open, although Google Maps still hasn't updated to show the route open. The final section from Wayne Memorial Drive to US-70 near La Grange won't be open until next summer.
Drove on it not too long ago. Definitely helps the western side of Goldsboro. I hated going to all those traffic light just to get to Raleigh. When the entire thing is done getting from my hometown La Grange to Raleigh would easily take under an hour. You know now that I think ago it why is there no exit on Washington St. in La Grange for this highway? It's the main rd in town. It's like to only way to get on the new 70 is to catch 903 and get on 70 that way.
Three more buildings were sold in downtown Goldsboro for renovation, all three will be mixed use projects with retail on the first floors and apartments on the second floors.
