I am from Wilson and currently live in Wilmington NC. I have family who lives in Greenville, Goldsboro and Rocky Mount. So I know the cities you are asking about well. Greenville would have the most active downtown, as far as business. Greenville's downtown is close to the University. Wilson, Goldsboro and Rocky Mount have really old downtowns. Wilson has tried to revitalized its downtown, but it will never become center for commerce (in my opinion). Wilmington is a south east NC coastal city and has an amazing downtown!
