We will be moving to the Crystal Coast soon and we were wondering if there are any non-smoking restaurants there? Nothing against you smokers, just don't like to mix my food with cigarette, cigar or pipe smoke!

Many NC counties and municipalities publish lists of smoke-free restaurants. Which county or city are you interested in?

Example - http://www.durham-nc.com/dining/breatheeasy.php (broken link)

There are several places in Wilmington that went smoke free in 07. I hope many more go free in 08. Maybe I'll be able to go out more. I have seen people smoke in the stadium at schools here.

Default not smoke-free yet?

Thanks for the info, mm34b (where DO you get it all, anyway? Can always count on you to come up with interesting & useful facts)

Just wanted to mention that here in Florida, the Gulf-Coast county I live in has just decided that there will not be smoking on the beaches (except in designated off-beach areas) -- and this is because of the huge amount of disgusting smokers' litter that is left on the beach, to the detriment of beach-goers (not to mention the health risks to wildlife!!)

As a former smoker, I know all the hype about smokers' rights; as a nurse, I have to encourage smokers to consider how much better their lives would be without nicotine. ('You can do it, too!!' -- smokers, make it your #1 resolution for 2008!!)

Off my soap-box now....
Nims
