Did anyone see George Elliott's sweater last night? Like I said earlier...bizarre but entertaining. Rumor is he is on his way out. He still claims to be chief meteorlologist but Craig Carnesi does most of the prime time. Ole Jorge will probably be bagging groceries soon.

No, I missed last night's performance. He does take some getting used to, doesn't he?

I wonder about his competence sometimes, too. One day a few weeks ago he predicted it was gonna be mostly cloudy, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

I used to see that man everywhere I went for some reason. Believe it or not in public he is rather reserved. He was walking in front of me into Belks at the mall once and a lady who was starstruck by him said hello and he just blew her off. Maybe he only acts like a goof in front of the camera. The rest of the Channel 6 News team is a joke too. I have never seen a newscast with so many screw ups. Who does the hiring at that place? I'll never forget the night they were reporting about the Governor and had a picture of a hog up on the screen. If you've only been watching recently then you missed a real treat when Ken Murphy and Frances Weller used to do the news together. If you think George is bad you should have seen Ken! He used to do 2 minute editorials and would run out of time and they would just cut him off in mid-sentence. The sad part is they were all prerecorded! God Rest his Soul.

That is too funny. I used to see George Elliot everywhere too! Downtown on the weekends, Harris Teeter, Books a Million, etc. It was crazy...almost like he was everywhere he went.

I am convinced that they use college kids to report and produce the local channels around here in wilm.. all 3 stations are a bunch of goofs. with all the options nowadays on tv I dont even bother with these local stations. On a side note I just got HDTV and when you watch wral out of raleigh- wow what a great picture, then you turn to the local channels,Honestly my camcorder from the 80's delivered a better picture.

I still think Mark Mathis who use to do weather out of Charlotte was best wild newsperson in this state. Check out this you tube video and you can be the judge

YouTube - Crazy Weather Man
He was like this every night.

Yea...gotta agree with you on that one. Last I heard...this guy lost his job because of the sauce. He was looking to get back into television basically starting over at a much smaller market than Charlotte. Won't post it here but another funny one...if you aren't offended by profanity is the terretts weather guy.

Maybe George Elliott cloned himself many times over, but only one can talk. I saw him in Dilliards 2x and at the airport. He is a real goof ball, but I will miss the entertainment. When he says it will be hot, I wear a coat and when he forcasts a sunny day, I carry an umbrella.

WTH? This is hilarious. I used to see George Elliot everywhere, too (years ago, when I lived in Wilm). Especially downtown.
