Thanks. I also read though the version in the Jacksonville paper, and Croatan High is the one nearby high school with an A rating. Most of Onslow County schools get B or C and more rural schools get C or D.

I also extracted the Pender, Brunswick and New Hanover area scores from the Wilmington Star-News, since most of the forum school question concern Wilmington.

Here is an easier link for Southeastern NC schools...

NC Board of Education unveils school performance grades - WECT TV6-WECT.com:News, weather & sports Wilmington, NC

I reviewed these for New Hanover County and they are as I expected. It is important to keep in mind that demographics plays a big role in these school rankings, not necessarily whether the school is trying or not. But for folks here that ask about schools, these rankings are probably better than some of the other stuff that has come out because you can see the rankings of one school in context with the others.

Thanks. I am glad WECT presented a county-by-county sorted ranking of schools. That's exactly what folks contemplating moving want. I wish we could make their charts a sticky.

Yeah...I have stopped posting many Star News articles because of their pay wall. If I can get the same info elsewhere I usually post that.

I found it fairly impossible to navigate the State's site...I would recommend checking the local paper if anyone wants the broken down numbers of a particular county.

Agreed, the state's NCReportCard is overly detailed, and I never saw the comparisons.

BTW, I read the TV news stations site instead of the local papers, and they provided good reports on the school report cards.
