I'm shocked that she came forward so quickly. She has to wait at least two full weeks before she gets the check. There are far too many crazy leeches out there. Why would she put herself or her four kids out there like that?

The good news is, she's already retained a lawyer and is talking to a financial adviser. I feel a lot better about her prospects than I did when she first came forward.

Hopefully,

The Lawyer she's retained will know what to do and will advise her of the same. While winning the Lottery seems like the greatest windfall in the world we all would like to happen to us, the fact is, her life, as she once knew it, has now changed completely.

And for her safety and the safety of her family, she will listen and heed the advice by her counsel.

I feel glad she won and hope she lives out her dreams, in health and prosperity, in the years to come.

If she were smart, she would have kept her mouth shut and her identity quiet.

She'll be broke in no time flat.

I agree. Her father is a criminal, her baby daddy's are deadbeats, and the rest of her family sounds like a bunch of bloodthirsty cockroaches. Her only hope is moving far away and estranging herself from such foolishness!

"That's a lot of money" even after paying back about half in taxes. Something I never understood and like.

That article doesn't read that she'll be broke in no time flat. It reads that she is a single mother providing for her kids and intends to keep on doing so. The media seems to be one's making a huge deal out of her extended family's situations.

You could pick up most any person and dig into their extended family and find all sorts of interesting stories.

Have to wonder why when the elderly couple wins the lottery...there aren't all these stories about their grandkids being arrested multiple times or the brother that had this issue or nephew that had that issue. I take issue with the fact that the media and general public tend to imply that the 26 year old as being "broke in no time" compared to the older folks winning.

The reality is that this girl has "REAL" stuff to pay for. 4 kids. Disability. College. Home. She won't be broke. She'll actually have something. She was broke before.

Personally, IF I even played the lottery and won, I wouldn't come forward.

That's because the old folks will die before they run out of money.
