we are thinking about buying a small vacation home near the NC coast (wilmington area maybe), we would also like to be able to rent it out for some income. we lives in chapel hill, NC., used to live in boston, really miss the ocean waters. wonder if anyone have any experiences on coastal vacation properties?

Check out The Bluffs on the Cape Fear. It's a pre construction land developement just outside of Wilmington with the property bordering the Cape Fear river. I think they are almost finished with phase 2 though, there may still be some lots left. Next phase available sometime in the spring.

Default Bluffs are nice!

and fairly easy to get to! Some new projects on Hatteras are relatively affordable as well and with the changing of HWY 64E the drive which used to be a nightmare takes about half the time!
