Would love to hear from residents of Ocean Ridge Plantation in Brunswick County who can share their experiences in building there; i.e. "The ARB" architectural review board. We plan to build in around 2-3 yeas and I have head this can be a long and frustrating process. Comments anyone??

Dated 1/29/19. We too are planning on building within the next couple yrs. Ive heard its difficult to get the plans thru the 1st time. I would recommend getring a builder that has built homes in OR. They should know the intricacies of the ORB and what they look for. We went several yrs to several Parade Of Homes and talked to builders. We loved Schiano and Satterwhite but Satterwhite said he would not build in OR again due to the ARB. Schiano builds in Saint James but has not built in OR. There seems to be tons of rukes and regulations. Be careful treading thru them. Best to have a seasoned builder who knows the ins and outs of OR. Also. The HOA and the developer Saunders are in a seemingly never ending battle. Keep a watchful eye on that, since Saunders owns the entrance and golf courses and may not maintain them to the benefit od the community.

This is a total understatement "The HOA and the developer Saunders are in a seemingly never ending battle."

Talk about finger pointing, its like grammar school bickering. Board and Saunders go back and forth with emails to the residents contradicting one another.

No even sure why we have these Residents meetings because it was very clear certain board members make all the decisions including financial without Residents input or signoff.

First time living in a HOA community and surely will be my last.....
