Now, if they could just find a way to build a larger team store or set up tents around the stadium for people to buy wood ducks merchandise. The current team store is literally the size of a bathroom and they can only let a certain number of people in at a time. It creates a huge back up and really makes you want to leave line really quickly (or not go in at all). They're missing out on revenue. A couple of 10 x 10 tents around the stadium with a couple of t-shirts, hats, and small items like keychains and bumper stickers would be much better than what they have now.
Buies Creek is using a mobile unit as a merchandise store. Kinston could easily set one up on the right side of the stadium to supplement the official team store.

Honestly, they could purchase a $200 party tent and it would be a bigger, better option than their current team store.

I've been to plenty of sporting events where they had something similar to sell merchandise in.

Believe it or not, the Wood Ducks won the best logo/branding award.

Yea, it's actually a great logo/brand. I was skeptical about this when they first came out with the name, but I've changed my tune. I went to a couple of games this past season and had a good time.

Construction on Grainger Stadium improvements to get underway soon

Quote:
The Down East Wood Ducks have announced plans for a new two-story hospitality structure at Grainger Stadium.

The 10,000 square foot building will be located down the right field line.

Each level will feature a bar, televisions and seating. There will also be an outside viewing area.

Wade Howell, the Wood Ducks General Manager, says the goal is to give fans and professional groups a unique experience to watch America's favorite pastime.

Howell says, "Its really just trying to get a space inside the park that most of the teams at this level, and higher, have. It's really kind of adding to the corporate hospitality and social aspect of the fan experience of coming to the game."

Construction is expected to start November 1st with the goal of being completed by April of next year.

With the stadium improvements comes an addition of three more seasons to the lease. The Woodies are now signed with Kinston through 2031.

Sounds like a nice way to keep Grainger historic but get some new amenities as well. I believe the building on the Hwy 11 side of the parking lot was torn down and the other building painted Wood Duck green to make the area look a little more kept.

Cleveland just canned the little red man. I assume these jerseys won't have him either.
