I have to agree with carolinadawg about River Bluffs. It sounded great, until we turned onto Chair Road, which is the about 1 /2 mile entrance to River Bluffs. Unless RB is planning to totally buy out the people on Chair Road, forget it. Who is going to spend $400K plus and have a trailer park as the entrance to their property? Their spec sheet listed Porter's Neck as the nearest grocery shopping....ah, not too close, and there is nothing built around River Bluffs in the way of even a pharmacy. We quickly crossed that one off the list.

This is good feed back. I've been getting info from them but the trailer park would be a definite turn off. And - why would they put a landfill next to the river?

Shallotte is about 36 miles from the 421 bridge crossing the Cape Fear into Wilmington. Shallote has the nicest movie theater between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. Shallotte has Lowes and Home Depot, Office Depot and Belks among other big box stores. Shallotte is 34 miles or about 40 minutes from central Myrtle Beach which has about all the cultural events, shows, big box stores and the like you can think of.

Believe me, when you are retired, 40 minutes in not much of liability.
