So... HAD planned on heading to New Bern on Monday (and visiting Wilmington as well in my scouting for possible relocation) - I have to pick someone up in Annapolis so I'm not on my own schedule unfortunately (I would just reschedule myself) - if the person I have to pick up can hold off a few days - what does your crystal ball say about weather maybe a couple days later? LOL

I was also hoping/planning to go to Emerald Isle and possibly a beach or two around Wilmington but would prefer some sun - I know the storm is a little ways out (did see warnings already for Wilmington) - ACK... guess this be a good opportunity to see how I can deal w/a storm but would prefer to not have to drive into/through it for 6 hrs. or so..

Appreciate any advice.

Its not a particularly strong storm, meaning there will be no evacuations or property damage. Just some wind and apparently a lot of rain.

The storm is very slow moving and is supposed to effect the coast through Sunday. I would think by Monday it will pretty much be gone, or at least nearly so.

Thanks, the forecast I looked up showed rain in NB through Wed. - I'll hope for the best I guess.

It looks to be a slow-moving storm/wave that will linger over the weekend. But this probably means intermittent bands of rain and fair weather as these storms blow in their rotating pattern. It's a mixed bag but nothing catastrophic.

We'll get rain, some downpours, some light gusty winds, then nothing. Think of it as a spotty, prolonged rainstorm coming through. You won't be rained out completely.

I'm here now and the temps are dropping. The wind is picking up right now. Getting cloudy. Cooler gusts of wind blowing my hair. I'm still sitting on the porch out here.

Bring an umbrella and drive slowly. You'll be fine

Once it passes, there should be some good shells and other treasures on the beach!

I'm in Wilmington and we currently have breezy rain, minor sporadic downpours, and a sycamore branch on the deck. It's a day to stay in the house and run the laundry.

Its been kind of a crazy Saturday. Sunny first thing, then overcast most of the morning. Windy with strong gusts from time to time. Then light rain for maybe 5-10 minutes. Then sunny again. Then heavy rain for 10-15 minutes. Then overcast. Then sunny again. At least the temperature has stayed 70ish.

We've postponed heading to New Bern until Tues. and then hoping for some decent day(s) to visit Wilmington area and those beaches as well as Emerald Isle and New Bern itself (and I'll see what else I can fit in) - planning to stay for 10-12 days. Stay safe and dry all.
