Thinking about buying a lot in one of the developments on/around 211, and then having a builder put a ~1700ft2 home on it.
Anybody have any suggestions for me? Some of the builders seem not to be interested for a single house- they all want to focus on multiple lots working for the developers.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

H&H Homes will build on your lot with 40 miles of their office in Wilmington. Details here: Custom Built Homes | H&H Homes

You can see some of their homes in these communities: Ocean Isle Beach NC & Sunset Beach NC Homes for Sale | H&H Homes Brick Landing has houses in the low $200K range.

We have a spec-built H&H House and are generally pleased. But, if you are looking for a true custom home, that's a whole different ballpark.

Last year, Laurel Homes was building on individual lots...Might still be a possibility. I believe they are currently building in Tidal Walk and Compass Pointe to view construction and talk to someone. Good luck.

We purchased a resale lot in Winding River Plantation. We chose Trusst Builders Group to build on our lot. We selected a Trusst model that is about 1700 sq. ft. down but went with the optional bonus room up for a total of about 2200 sf. We moved into our new home this February. We are we are happy with our home and our selection of Trusst as the builder.

FWIW; Bethany Builders is building a couple of homes on homeowner's lot in Winding River. A friend used Bethany a few years ago and had some extras included (wider doorways to accommodate wheelchairs) and was very happy with them. I have noticed some builders seem to take a long time to finish, but Bethany seems to stay on task.
