I can't help it....youtube i'm just a girl - Bing

I don't think you have any worries other then working on your spelling and learning that carrying a gun in everyday life isn't necessary and somewhat paranoid and sad.

No one can tell it's sarcastic.

Post on the Coastal forum. Read through the posts there for good advice.

Ok then I'll get off my soapbox then. I know people who say stuff like that and truly mean it. Kudos if your not. I'll also admit that I too was sarcastic about your concern for your gf. Your description sounded somewhat archaic towards women. I promise I'm not a feminazi but equating her size and stature with increased probability of being a victim harkens the damsel in distress or a weak women who has to be protected. I know I'm going off the charts with this. The post just struck me that way.

I've never lived in Wilmington but I've listen often and stayed at UNCW a long time ago. I would say most apartments close to the school and student populated should be fine. Be wary of apartments too far from campus or way cheaper then the competition.

Check the Coastal North Carolina sub-forum. There are numerous threads on whether/how much crime there really is in Wilmington. But in general, stay away from the housing projects at Greenfield Lake and other areas which seem too cheap. Also check the police reports at the Wilmington Star-News.

As others have said, if the fiancee stays close to campus, the apartments should be safe.

thanks, i wasnt trying to make the whole damsel in distress story, just based by her shy personality and how shes handled simmilar situations in the past just makes me a little on edge about it, plus my anxiety tends to take over and make me over analyze situations and over think things way much more than need be.

Go to the New Hanover County Sheriff's department page and from there you can look at a crime incident map of the area. The Wilmington Police Department may have something like that, as well.

Pay no attention to those people. They get on their high horse when they can type whatever they want with no repercussion. People read into the silliest things. You might call the police dept and ask which Aries have the most crime. You can also look it up online using a map that lays out where daily arrests occurred. Locals have been telling me to stay away from downtown. It's cheaper and tempting but I've been warned by about five different people now. I've been using Google Earth which really puts things into perspective.
P.S. Goods for you for looking out for your fiancé. I take no offense to chivalry and think other women need to get used to a man who treats them well and is protective! I'm no less strong because of it, I can assure you 
