Looking to move to the Hampstead area and wondering about the cost of utilities there. Could someone share what they pay for:

- gas
- electric
- water/sewage
- Internet/cable/phone
- anything else I'm forgetting?

We're a family of five most likely moving into a 3-4br house.

If someone could also share what they pay in home taxes and insurance per year that would be wonderful...ideally on an approximately $225,000 home.

Thank you so much!

Some answers posted previously, especially the last one:

Thinking of Relocating to Coastal NC
Relocating to Wilmington North Carolina in July!

The last includes my previous comment: "Assume you will have an electric heat pump because natural gas heat is not available. Thus, expect the maximum winter heat bills between $200 and $300, depending on the efficiency of the house and your temperature settings. Cable and internet are not cheap, so I agree with the $100-120 estimate. If you have to water the lawn in the summer, expect the water bill to go up, maybe to $100/month."

We paid up to $200 in the summer for A/C. Your phone bill obviously depends on how you use it, so assume that it is the same as where you come from. Water and sewer are provided by Pender County unless you are on private systems. In our area, sewer is a fixed $62.50/month and water is about $20/month for the house only for 2 people. Expect to pay more for water if you have kids and/or a lawn watering system.
