I am looking to relocate to coastal NC, anywhere from Carolina Beach to Brunswick County.
Due to damaged credit from 2008 economic crash, I'll need to work with a private owner to find a place to rent. I've been searching Craigslist and Google, and the newspapers for days with very little luck.
If you are a private owner or if you know one that has a house for rent, please respond.
If anyone knows of a website where I can find a place, please let me know.

I am a "mature" female, non-smoker, no pets, no kids.

I am relocating alone, but I have some storage. So here's what I am looking for:

1-3 BR home or manufactured home, would LOVE Carolina Beach (but I know that may not be realistic, but I'll put my dream out there!). Would also prefer Monkey Junction, or area from UNCW to CB.
Will also consider Supply, Shallotte, Holden Beach, Sunset Beach.
Will also consider N. Myrtle Beach, SC

Max. monthly rent $750 (less is better)

Thank you!
Suzie
PS: I know it says I live in Apex, and I used to live there, but moved back home to PA years ago and now I want to go coastal! I am not handy to go look at places.

Thre are slim pickings in that price range around Oak Island, but there are several 1 bedroom houses or apartments on Realtor.com : Apartments for Rent in Oak Island, Top 7 Apts and Homes in Oak Island, NC - realtor.com® Note that includes a 1-bedroom at Carolina Beach. Realtor also has numerous houses and apartments in Wilmington, but I will let you sort out what neighborhoods they are in.

You might also try the local newspapers, and Craigslist.

Thank you. I am looking to rent from private owner, and can change the amount up to $800, or less, if it's oceanfront.

You won't find a year-round oceanfront rental for $800 a month.

You would have better options by placing a "rental wanted" on Craiglist.

You might find a "winter only" rental on the ocean for $800, but certainly not a year-round place.

Thanks for the responses! I did find a place in an oceanfront building but my place is street front. I'll be here for a while, but before end of season, I'll need a year round place. That can be anytime from now till May. I'm sure it can't be oceanfront during summer season, but would love to be at Carolina Beach anywhere!

So now I am looking for a year round place anywhere on CB, 2-3 BR, at $600 max + some utilities (may be able to go a little higher, but trying to keep expenses low) or a little more if all utilities are included.
