Hey everyone,

I'm moving to the area of Moyock from Florida for a job. I'm looking for a place to live. I"ve heard the Elizabeth City has a lot of crime (correct me if I'm wrong). I heard its expensive to live in VA.

So I'm looking for a place in/south/east/west of Moyock. Any feed back will be appreciated.

I also live in Eagle Creek, and I've lived in Moyock since 1994. I highly recommend this area. Good schools, good quality of life, etc..
PM sent on locating a house.

I live in Moyock also and work at BW. Eagle Creek is nice but a little expensive. E.C. does have some crime but it depends on what you're used to as to whether or not you would think it's bad. If you're from Miami you would laugh at the crime in E.C. if you're from Pensacola it may seem a little worse.

Moyock is a small town (quite rural to most). E.C. is a small city but still nothing compared to Norfolk, VA (which is nothing compared to Miami). Most of the BW people (if that's where you are going to work, which I know you didn't say you were) live in Chesapeake, VA or Moyock. Some in South Mills and Camden where a dollar goes a lot farther. Wherever you live you will want everyone in your family to own a vehicle (if they're old enough).

If you have children the schools in Moyock/Currituck are very good. As well as the schools in Camden though much smaller. E.C. schools have a worse reputation but still not horrible compared to some places in NC.

If VA is an option I would look towards Hickory and Great Bridge, VA. Good schools, lots of businesses, and some of the homes are not outrageously expensive. It's a nice but busy little town.

Default Moyock

I live in the Moyock area too. Have heard that BW has problems and has been laying people off. Can't say for sure but that's what's going around. Might want to have a backup if you're moving here for that company.
