Thank you everyone for All the great information.
Me and the wife are coming down to SJP for the first time on the Feb 21st (which is also our 16th anniversary).
One of our concerns is, we are still 5 to 10 years away from retiring, and are concerned about keeping up a house so far away. We have toyed with the a condo or townhouse, but their doesn't seem to be a lot of inventory and no new developments.

Charlie, FYI, they just cleared ground for 5 new condo buildings at the Club Villas ( 30 units ) in the Members Club, should be starting shortly, done in 6 months or so.... large demand for them.

Are the new condos being constructed along Members Club Blvd? if so, hopefully there has been sufficient green space left as a buffer between the condos and the street.

Yes they are along Members Club Boulevard... "sufficient" is a subjective term, they have the same "buffer" as the other condo buildings on the Members Club Boulevard.

Curious to know, as we have a lot on the eyebrow across the blvd. from Club Villas that we hope to build on in a couple of years. Too bad to lose the natural area across the street, but as I look at the Club Villas on Google Earth, the existing parking lot appears to be constructed to allow additional units to be constructed in that area. BTW, how did the plantation fare with PAX? Any serious damage?

The storm that came through the southeast during the past few days...The Weather Channel is now giving all "major" weather systems some very "interesting" names.

We haven't had ANY significant damage from ANY of the storms / hurricanes in the past three years.... a few small branches down but nothing to speak of at all not even flooding.... they all have swept past us and on to do damage up North and FAR West of us.

That's good news about the additional buildings.
On the flip side to that, do any of the HOA's there cover lawns care etc. on single family homes?

We are getting up to 6 more inches of snow here in Chicago today.
Although looking at weather for SJP this coming weekend, it looks like we managed to pick the only three days that its going to rain out there.
