I talked to several of the builders in SJP and they were willing to build in WRP. WRP is not a truly gated place and much more quiet than SJP. I guess if you like the activity and go go pace of the northeast, SJP is a good choice. SJP is beautiful, but expensive. If golf is not important to you, WRP total fees for pool, docks and beach and river houses are about $90 per month including HOA fees. The best plantation deal for those you don't play golf.
Agree, Winding River a very nice plantation. Closer to Rt 17 as well for those shopping in Wilmington. Nice alternative to SJP if some feel SJP is too big or crowded. Ocean Ridge Plantation very nice as well near Sunset Beach.

Paul, Logan quoted us $720 for basic utility sink and around $1200 for utility sink in cabinet for the plan we're considering.

Hi Guys,

I just checked my options addendum and the Laundry sink (free standing) cost $700 from Logan and not $350. Sorry for the error.

To Pony, Gator and Abby,

Thanks so much for the information!

Even though $700 seems high, I guess it would cost a lot more to install it later especially with that concrete pad.

As explained to me by Logan, it is the plumbing, not the actual sink that is the "lion's share" of the extra costs. I believe they told me that to add the plumbing but not add the sink itself, would be $500. So the sink itself is ~$200 of the $700. Perhaps that clears it all up.

Anything special, aside from the Southport parade, happening at SJP the week of 4th of July. Are any City-Data buddies, who do not yet live in SJP, going to be in the area that week?

Pony,

There are a lot of activities for Founders Day. Wish I was going down, but can't make it.

Happy 15th Birthday, Town of St. James!

Paul

Mr. Purple,

I agree, we looked at a number of very nice communities, in the area, over a two year period. We decided on WRP, love the boat house and little marina, the beach house and the quiet. We don't golf. Closed on a lot in April. Construction should start early next month. We selected Trusstt to build our house.
