Just checked out "Loopnet". Very interesting ...Mirasol Retail Development is now selling that tract (along 211 & Southport Supply Rd) looks like they're scouting for grocery retail?? Watch out Lowes....I see Publix in the background.. or shall I dare say distant future??

Where is it located? I don't remember seeing anything like that under construction.

Right now, it's hard to see/find. It's on the new Long Beach Road (south of Hwy. 211) that hasn't officially opened yet. Apparently, DOT is allowing the new road to be used to access the new Food Lion.

I was just wondering whether St. James ever plans excursions with a bus, for example, so a group could go to, let's say, a football game in Charlotte. Anything like that so one wouldn't have to drive to go to some event, a couple, three hours away?

Went by the site Sunday and half of it is still has standing water from the last storm 2/3 weeks ago when SJP had to close their main entrance due to the flooding.

I seem to remember SJP putting a bus trip together to a ball game but its not something they do on a regular basis. Occasionally something more exotic pops up in one of the newsletters with an individual planning a trip somewhere in the world and others are welcome to join in.

If you like these kinds of trips, check with the Brunswick Senior Center in Southport. They are very active and offer bus/15 passenger van trips to local attractions for the day as well as multi day trips to New York City, Cruises etc.

Spoke with someone today whom I trust to be "in the know" about The Charles. Though little is apparent from the road, permitting and work is progressing. I also understand that an unnamed medical group is onboard and plans to locate there. Rumors of its demise seem to be premature.

Seems like something from our government... un-named groups and rumors.

Yeah, I know Stoney. I'm not saying all I heard because it was in part confidential. I believe the intentions and efforts are progressing honestly. That's not to say it could not all go up in smoke tomorrow but from what I heard today, we will see The Charles come to fruition.
