OK, more "info".... the manager at Lowes in Southport said that Lowes has acquired the parcel of land right next to the new Food Lion and will be building a new store there soon so Lowes will be staying in Southport AND having the new store on Midway... he said the CVS will be going along with them to the new store at the new location in Southport..... that's what he said... in addition he is told that the old Food Lion across the street will house a new Big Lots store.

Gee I hope they don't all come here.... that's one of the reasons so many of us left NJ.

Gee Stoney, I thought they left because of great equity in their homes, lower home prices in the south, lower taxes and warmer weather

I heard Lowe's (grocery) will be moving to a site on the new Long Beach Road, north of 211 (the other side from the new FL.

I hope the Big Lots rumor is true!

OK, so here's the line-up for the new Lowes complex at Midway... so far:

A dentist from Wilmington has taken two units

Great Clips hair cutters from Harris Teeters center in Leland has taken one unit

Wok and Roll Chinese food from Harris Teeters center in Leland has taken one unit

The Bagel Dock from Calabash has taken one unit

Falcones Italian restaurant from Harris Teeters center in Leland has taken one unit, contemplating two

Also a big gas station 'on the order of' Go Gas, don't know which one just yet

Still 6 or 7 units to go.......

Stonecreek thanks for the update. I have to admit we were very concerned with what was going in but it looks like its going to be a nice set up. Your update is very appreciated.

In addition.... as in PS:

The rep from Lowes said that they realize that they are competing directly with Harris Teeter and that they are making a special effort to make the prepared food and deli area "spectacular" by comparison with more hot food items AND a sort of "beer garden" for the beer and wine section for "tasting events".....
