Not yet .... all I hear is 'soon' .... 'next week'

At times the gate is backed up a bit but security seems to be doing all they can to keep traffic moving. If they see a beach club parking pass on your rear view they are waving you through.

I am starting to research area's in both North Carolina and South Carolina as my husband and I near retirement and want to move out of Connecticut.

The St James Plantation looks beautiful but homes are VERY expensive (from what I can see). Any recommendations for where I should focus my search as I would like to be in the coastal areas of NC and my price range for a home is $200,000 to $250,000 (both in 'community' setting and non-community setting). Thanks!

2 bedroom condos are at or below your price range if your looking for the community . Overwise you may want to start your own thread. I think this one will likely only be read by St James property owners. etc

Is there room at SJP for two more Yankees from Connecticut? We were down in early April and fell in love. I've read all 3115 entries on this blog and want to thank so many of you for generously sharing so much valuable information. We're coming down again next week, Tuesday to Sunday, to meet with realtors and builders. Is there any time y'all plan to be down at Tommy's drinking 12 year Macallan and smokin' cigars, etc....etc...? We'd love to meet you!

Good morning...another yankee looking to make the move . My husband and I just returned last week from our first trip to NC. We looked at several communities, including St. James - which was impressive. We had hoped to get a better feel for the social life and the activities offered, but not enough time, I see another trip in our future -SOON. In the meantime, can anyone shed some light on the frequent flyers club? A travel club, I assume. Would love to know some recent destinations and how they operate. Travel is on the top of our list....Thanks!

Never heard of a frequent flyer club in St James. Occasionally some one will post a note in one of the community related newsletters about some up coming trip and invite others to participate.

The local senior center organizes various trips throughout the year. Some local, some by bus to NYC and other US destinations.

Perhaps it is this newly formed travel club in Southport?
