Just got back from a visit to SJP and view my new-build construction with Logan Homes (Tavilla II model). I am approximately 1 month from completion. There were only a handful of non-cosmetic issues that need to be addressed ... nothing too shocking. Here are 3 videos:

Default Thanks Gator

Beautiful home. I appreciate your pics from groundbreaking to completion. Will you be able to fish in your backyard?

Yes ... catch and release only though. And residents with a fresh-water license and a SJP fishing permit can fish the ponds from properties that are not developed and not on the golf-course.

I can remember many a summer's day when I was a wee-lad fishing the numerous ponds on the local golf courses in Northern Virginia and combing the shallows for errant golf balls. I also remember selling those golf balls back to the golfers. It was actually decent income for a kid.

Any thoughts or information about Internet/Data access in SJP? It appears you have the choice of a relativity slow connection via the telephone company or Time Warner and some areas appear to have fiber optic. My main computer/data center is always plugged in to a hard wire while my phones/tables/lap tops run wireless.

Guess I'm looking for your experiences, reliability, perception on speed, ideas and suggestions on how you set up your home system(s) etc.

We've had the Time Warner triple play for three years, never had a hitch.... FIOS is only available in the Woodlands.

Actually the fiber optic service is called FOCUS and it is from ATMC: Fiber to the Home | Brunswick NC | ATMC

Thanks for the positive comments!

With 1 month to go, I must say the build process has gone very well ... just a couple of bumps along the road and Logan Homes has been very accommodating to remedies in each case.

I don't wanna say any more yet simply because I don't want to jinx myself, lol. Suffice it to say, so far this build experience could not be more different from the horror story I had 30 years ago building a home in Florida, where the builder was essentially going bankrupt towards the end. Yuck!

It is a nice view in the back yard Gatorbyter. It looks like a small river or creek running through. I will be starting the move in process next week. See you around the neighborhood.
