Well I considered that, but people kept updating the location and the price ($2.019) all day long - and right to this very minute. Plus, even if there were a HUGE exxon sign outside or on top of this building at that address, there were no gas pumps visible from any road, any angle - anywhere near that address or intersection. I actually parked on Wrightsville and looked while stopped and did not see any place to get gas and no pumps anywhere - regardless of what name or brand the station was. I'd love to solve this mystery.

I think you must be confused about where you were.

Not confused. This is where I was:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/11...!4d-77.8858619

Crossed the intersection South to North, East to West, parked on side of street, verified by Google Maps and GPS and everything on Google Street View is there except the Exxon station and the gas pumps.

Coming down to Wilmington for parents weekend at UNCW, flying into Myrtle Beach... I'm getting anxious about the gas shortage

Construction is complete of a bypass around the damaged section of the pipeline. Tuesday they are testing the repair. Wednesday fuel is to start flowing thru the pipeline again.

Officials caution that it will still be several days after Wednesday before all gas stations get their tanks back to normal levels.

Please stop panicking. Also, if you don't need to have a full gas tank, then don't fill it the next time you stop. Share the supply. More is on the way.

Heard more shipments are also coming to refill the tanks along the Cape Fear River. Wilmington will never really run out of gas because of those tanks.

Agree. A few stations have run out because of folks filling up unnecessarily and causing a surge in demand, but once the panic buying stops the stations can get their tanks back to normal levels.

I hope the prices get back to normal. Gas stations on either side of 17, one kept their prices at 2.09 the whole time, the other let theirs rise to 2.23.

I'm always skeptical of things going to according to plan when it comes to construction/repairs to a pipeline. Military taught me to be prepared because I can't be certain everything will go smoothly with the repairs. 17 cents higher than when I filled up Sunday

The damaged section of pipe was bypassed and fuel began flowing on Wednesday.

It takes time for it to reach NC in sufficient quantities that the tanker trucks need to meet the demand. Back to pretty much all stations having gas to sell by Monday AM, I hope.
